The “Tropical and mediterranean cropping system functioning and management” joint research unit (UMR SYSTEM) produces knowledge and tools to assess and design cropping systems combining economic efficiency and the production of environmental services.

In Mediterranean and tropical areas, it explores the hypothesis whereby the biological diversity of species cultivated in the same place fosters ecological intensification.

INAT

INAT

The National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia (INAT), created in 1898, is the oldest high engineering institute in Africa. More than 6500 engineers of twenty nationalities have been trained at INAT. Currently, 1400 students are in INAT for Engineer, Master and Doctorate levels in agronomic sciences and research (e.g. water resources management, agronomy and plant biotechnology, rural economy and management). INAT has a wide national and international cooperation with more than 50 foreign universities in the five continents.

LR17AGR01/LR-GREEN TEAM (LR- Gestion intégrée des REssourcEs Naturelles : TElédétection, Analyse spatiale et Modélisation / InteGRatEd managemEnt of Natural resources: remoTE sensing, spatial Analysis and Modeling) is a multidisciplinary research laboratory created in 2017 and under the double supervision of INAT and Carthage University. The GREEN TEAM LR10AGR01 is composed of many researchers with various disciplines (Remote sensing, Hydrologists, soil scientists, hydrogeologists, agronomists, eco-physiologist, agro-socio-economist, environmental scientists in remote sensing, hydrology, soil-vegetation-atmosphere transfer modelling and integrated water resources management).
